IDEA & NCLB

The two major federal education laws affecting children with disabilities are the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act of 2004 (IDEA) and the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB).

IDEA

The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act guarantees children and young adults with disabilities a free, appropriate education in the least restrictive environment.

NCLB

The No Child Left Behind Act holds schools accountable for the outcomes of all students, with and without disabilities.
