STOMP to Present Air Force Trainings

STOMP (Specialized Training of Military Parents) has been invited by the United States Air Force to provide 6 one-of-a-kind 1.5 day workshops designed specifically for Air Force professionals (EFMP Managers, School Liaison Officers, educators) that work with children with special needs.  

The installations chosen were Wright Patterson AFB OH, Travis AFB CA, Scott AFB, IL, Lackland AF TX (Sep. 24-25, 2009), Ramstein AFB Germany (Sep. 28-29, 2009) and Langley VA (Nov 3-4, 2009).

TA&D Center of the Month: Technical Assistance Coordination Center

The Technical Assistance Coordination Center (TACC) is an OSEP-funded Technical Assistance & Dissemination (TA&D) Network project funded to support coordination, communication, and collaboration among the entire TA&D Network and with other national professional and federally-funded technical assistance centers. They maintain the TA&D Network Web site with links to information about the products and activities of the centers and other useful U.S. Department of Education news. More>>>

The U.S. Department of Education released new guidance on the use of Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) funds, including examples of possible expenditures.

The Early Childhood Outcomes Center has published a guide to help states and local programs use data from the Family Outcomes Survey to plan for program improvement. Although written for data reported to the Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) as part of the State’s Annual Performance Report (APR), the publication provides helpful information for anyone analyzing survey data. Baby’s First Games is a Center for Early Learning Literacy Practice Guide for Parents that promotes back-and-forth interaction between an infant and parent or caregiver. New IRIS Case Study

The IRIS Center has published a new case study to help teachers assist students who struggle with writing. Written Expression: Grades 2-5 provides techniques to help students who struggle with lower-level skills such as handwriting and grammar, as well as higher-level skills like planning and revising text.
